Liberal Indoctrination In Public Schools

Here's another case of public school students being exposed to blatant liberal, anti-President Bush indoctrination. An English class at a public alternative school in Beaumont, Texas was shown the Michael Moore film "Fahrenheit 9/11". Aside from the fact that the film is rated R, and the fact that parents weren't notified and asked for permission to show the film, how does this film tie in to an English curriculum?

One parent, angered that his child was forced to sit through the film, said of the film: "It is spun to a very liberal viewpoint... It is absolutely wrong for teachers to take a political position with some of these kids at legal voting age."

He's exactly right. The intrepid reporter who penned the story never mentions the teacher by name, or the rationale behind showing it to a high school English class. That's okay, though. It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to see that this is another case of a liberal teacher using their position to try to influence the political views of their students. Reprehensible. The teacher should be reprimanded, if not fired.

The school is Pathways Learning Center in Beaumont, phone number (409)832-5757, and the principal is Michael Ryals.
